Sian Murphy is a businesswoman, broadcaster, publisher, and event organiser known for bringing together business growth, wellbeing, and community connection. She is the founder of initiatives including Café in the Calm, Stepping Out, and the Women in Business Big Show, and hosts business and wellbeing radio shows and podcasts across the South East. Through events, training, publishing, and media, Sian supports people to grow both personally and professionally in a practical, grounded, and approachable way.

Deborah is a chartered surveyor with over 30 years’ property experience in the public and private sector and provides property consultancy advice to local authorities and small businesses, she established Deborah Turner Ltd over 10 years ago and loves helping clients to maximise the use and financial rewards from their property assets. She is the National Policy Lead for Women in Enterprise for the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and is an Advisory Board Member of Dept of Work and Pensions Menopause Group. Deborah is also Co-Founder of Breakthrough Women, a community celebrating working women and raising the visibility of women through hosting fun, supportive, inclusive business events.

Dr Tim Aker is a communications consultant, author and academic. He is the founder of Just A Minute Media Ltd, a complete communications consultancy designing and implementing PR and public affairs campaigns and public speaking and media training. He was previously a Member of the European Parliament and has over 15 years experience in front of a camera.

My work focuses on one critical leadership challenge: How do businesswomen remain economically active when life disrupts everything? Through coaching, speaking, research, and advocacy, I am redefining resilience as a structured leadership system that protects women’s agency, leadership capacity, and economic participation during sustained disruption. My work bridges the gap between health realities and business leadership, ensuring women are not forced to choose between their well-being and their professional future.

Gina started her career in corporate sales and customer service before finding her true calling in the not-for-profit sector. Today, she is Director of Social Value at Social Enterprise Kent, where she leads teams working across the South East to turn good intentions into real community impact. Alongside supporting businesses to deliver meaningful ESG, CSR and social value commitments, Gina also oversees SEK's school events team and community initiatives, including social supermarkets that make healthy food more accessible while reducing waste. She’s passionate about connecting businesses, schools and voluntary organisations to create practical partnerships that strengthen communities and make positive change happen where it matters most.

Harinder Mahil holds the economic regeneration, social regeneration and inward investment portfolio at Medway Council, where he oversees business support funds, grants and the council's One Medway approach to joined up working across departments. He's also the owner of the Gurkha Fire, a well known Medway restaurant housed in a converted fire station, which he took on from its previous operators and has grown steadily since. That dual role, council decision maker and small business owner, gives Harinder a rare view from both sides of the table. He brings the same directness to policy discussions as he does to running a hospitality business, and isn't afraid to say when something isn't working, on either side.

‘Nick is a retired police sergeant who spent nearly 20 years successfully recruiting and managing informants. He is now the CEO of a software business called iTrust. He is also the co-founder of Worldly Wise whose volunteers give support and inspiration to young people. Nick has appeared several times on TV and radio to discuss issues that relate to speaking up in the workplace. He has also given evidence to the All Party Parliamentary Group of MPs who want to strengthen whistleblowing legislation in the UK. Nick is an author and has written two books. ‘Exposing the Truth – Whistleblowing Uncovered’ is a guide to speaking up and his second book ‘Jeopardy’ is a novel about police corruption. Roland Stanley is the founder of Dragon Coworking, a community first coworking space in Medway. What began as spare office space he didn't want to pay business rates on has grown into one of the area's best known hubs for small businesses, freelancers and events, offering desks, private offices and a space where people build genuine connections, not just proximity. In 2026, Dragon Coworking became B Corp certified after a two year process that reshaped how the business buys, hires and operates, from solar powered offices to local buying targets. For Roland, it's a natural extension of what he set out to build from day one: a business that does good by the people and community around it.

Sean Henry is an experienced economic development professional dedicated to driving sustainable growth and prosperity across Medway. As Economic Development Manager at Medway Council, Sean leads strategic initiatives to attract investment, support local businesses, and foster innovation within the region. With a strong background in economic policy and place-based development, Sean works closely with stakeholders from the public and private sectors to deliver projects that create jobs, enhance infrastructure, and strengthen Medway’s position as a thriving hub for enterprise. His focus includes inward investment, skills development, and regeneration programs that align with Medway’s long-term vision for inclusive economic growth. Shweta is the CEO of MAUCARE Services. She started out in software engineering, but her path changed when she moved into care and realised how powerful good care can be. Her journey from code to care has shaped everything she does, and today she leads a homecare service focused on people, not processes, while speaking up for carers and families across the country.

Sue Berdo is a Programme Manager within the Business Investment Team at Kent County Council. She has over 20 years’ experience within the business support industry, over 15 of which have been spent at Kent County Council. Sue has worked across all areas of business support to include financial, non-financial and government funded programmes designed to support a variety of employment initiatives.

Zoe Cairns is the founder of ZC Social Media, a UK-based consultancy and management agency supporting medium to large organisations with LinkedIn management, social media strategy, content planning, and fully managed retainers. The agency acts as an extension of internal marketing teams, helping brands remain visible, consistent, and aligned with business goals. Over the years, she and her team have worked with recognised brands including Ann Summers, Mercure Hotels, NATO, Brother Printers, and ArcelorMittal, alongside a wide range of growing UK organisations. Alongside the agency, she leads the ZC Social Media Growth Academy — a membership community she has run for over five years, supporting more than 250 business owners and marketing professionals to build confidence, structure, and consistency in their social media. Members benefit from live monthly training, strategic frameworks, and practical tools to help them stay ahead of industry updates.
